Venture Foods is an independent, family business that brings to market a diverse range of high-quality organic foods under our two brands Geo Organics and Organica. We are huge supporters of organic living and the majority of our products have the Soil Association stamp which we believe represents the gold standard. All our products are vegetarian as are the company owners Mike and Tracey. All of our products are also vegan and approved by the Vegan Society.
Our company was founded in 1999 and over the last 19 years our brands have become very well established in the independent wholefood trade and a few niche products are available in Waitrose and Tesco.
We pride ourselves on innovation and being first to market so many of our products are still unique and unrivalled in the organic marketplace. We really enjoy finding cutting-edge and original foods and combinations of foods and continue to launch several new products every year.
A Family Portrait
I joined the team in 2013 and really enjoy the comings and goings of the office. I take my role very seriously and raise the attention of my colleagues when we have visitors. I especially like it when the postman arrives, I let everyone know and I enjoy sniffing the deliveries to make sure they are okay! Out of work I love running with my mate Pebbles, especially on the beach.
I joined the team in 2014 and as the newest member, have settled really quickly into office life! I delight in assisting with packaging tasks! I find the discarded cardboard really tasty! In my spare time I love to keep my mate Bob on his toes or should I say paws! We have great fun chasing each other when out and about.
I joined the Venture Foods family in 2019 and I help out across all areas of the business from sales orders to social engagement, maybe my role should be renamed Office Elf?
Out of work I travel in my self converted van with my sidekick, Onyx the Frug which I document over on my tiny and eco living blog and YouTube :).
I started the business in 1999 when all we had was a telephone in an empty office and an empty order book. I received my first order in April 2000 from Infinity Foods in Brighton. My main role involves product category targeting and the commercial negotiations for purchasing and selling our products.
My interests outside of work are our two Welsh Border Collies (Bob and Pebbles), Reading, Wargaming and Sea Kayaking (which I can’t do enough of – even though I can’t swim!).
I joined the business in 2001 to help Mike as the business started to grow. I have varied roles throughout the business but most of my time is spent on finance and supply chain (which in brief means stock control, purchase orders and collection of stock from Europe). I also do try to keep the team happy and motivated which means I hand out treats and put the kettle on – a lot!
Outside work my main interests are going to the pictures and theatre, walking on the beach and traveling.
I joined the company in 2016 to help out with stock control, purchase orders and collections. I also assist with some aspects of finance and really enjoy the variety of my role. Much of my time is spent despatching sales orders and raising invoices as well as keeping an eye on stock levels and placing purchase orders when required.
Outside work I have an even more varied role as Mummy to my son Magnus. He and his Daddy (my husband Steve) certainly keep me on my toes and I love nothing more than spending time with my family. Magnus has been having swimming lessons since a young baby which he really enjoys and we also spend lots of time exploring the countryside around our village!
